Warpath The Stroy of the Algonquin Regiment 1939-1945

Warpath
The Story of the Algonquin Regiment 1939–1945

by G.L.Cassidy

The story of the Algonquin Regiment is traced from its beginnings

" When, on the 22nd of July, 1940 lt.-Col. J.B. Stewart, E.D., received a telegram confirming the mobilization order which called forth the Algonquins to active service, his mind must have retraced briefly the long, uphill fight to reach this coveted place, a fight for which he himself had been so particularily concerned for a quarter of a century. ..."

from the first chapter of Warpath

.

Extensively well-documented and well-written.

The story of the Algonquin Regiment was originally published in 1948 by the Regiment's Veteran's Association, and reprinted by Highway Book Shop at their request. Reprinted again in 2003. There are 26 finely-typed pages just concerning the Nominal Roll, as well as listings for the Awards given, the Honour Roll, maps, photographs and even cartoons about life in the regiment.
